Circulon cookware 14-piece – Circulon cookware
How do you remove stuck-on food from Circulon cookware?
I have a 10″ Circulon skillet that has accumulated burnt-on grease/food in the ridges of the “high-low” cook surface. I have tried “deglazing” with soapy water, but this has yielded only marginal results.
The manual says that a special cleaning tool is required. If you have not been using one, and if you do not clean using the directions, it is no longer a non-stick pan.
Sorry.
Cast Iron Cookware advantages and disadvantages – Cast Iron Cookware
Which is better, copper or cast iron cookware?
Leaving out price and maintenance, and considering only performance, copper has similar heat retention to cast iron cookware and can be bought at similar weights and thicknesses. Not only that, it has incredible heat conduction as well. So you have cookware that has superior heat conduction, excellent heat retention, doesn’t have to be seasoned, and last a long time. Why do people still buy cast iron? Is there something about cast iron that is better than copper?
Well from research, since copper has superior conduction and is sold thick and heavy, it has even more superior even heating than cast iron. It can also be lined with stainless steel to make it last forever. I am talking purely of performance here, not maintenance or price.
I would say cast iron just simply for the seasoning aspect. Think of all the times you hear people refer to good ol’ southern food. That kind of food is usually cooked in a cast iron pan or pot. I can remember growing up my grandmothers both always used cast iron. I have never seen any of my family use copper, but I cant see how it would give the same flavor as cast iron.

Can I use Kitchenaid (stainless steel & copper) cookware on ceramic cooktops?
I bought these pots & pans because they’re really beautiful and were on sale, but I see that they are not recommended as the copper can apparently fuse on the cooktop. Is anyone using this cookware on a ceramic cooktop? Also, how can we prevent the copper from discoloring? Thanks!
Well copper melts at about 2000F and most stainless steels are roughly in the same range. I really doubt your cooktop is going to reach that range of temperature so I think you’re safe from having your pots fusing to your stove.
Aluminum Cookware dishwasher safe – Aluminum Cookware
Need “safer” cookware for home use. dishwasher safe. Ideas?
My old non-stick pots/pans are beginning to get scratched and need a replacement. I’d like to avoid teflon/non-stick due to the possible unproven risks. I also need cookware that is dishwasher safe, easy to handle and won’t cost me and arm and a leg..
What do you suggest? Stainless steel, Anodized Aluminum, Cast aluminum ( what is the difference bet. anodized and cast aluminum?), cast iron?…. Thanks.
I had non stick like you for a year or so. When they scratched I threw them out. Now I only use a skillet basically for everything. It is stainless steel. For sauteing frying just plain cooking etc. I use cast iron for pancake crepe omlette etc. Between the two majority of my cooking is done. When finished I transfer cooked food to serving container and rinse and cook again in the same stainless skillet. My husband throws away aluminum pots and pans. Never have even one. I dont trust them healthwise.

Copper and Aluminum cookware?
What do you think of the stainless steel with copper and aluminum core cookware? And what’s a good brand?
Plastic! High temperature plastic! The inside is coated with Teflon a high temp polymer and the outside is aluminum foil. Take the cookware, tip it upside down and spray it with Rustoleum copper tone and presto, you have the cooper bottom like Revere Wear.
When you are done after being careful to cook only low temp foods, throw it away thus eliminating the chores of doing dishes and practicing going green with no water used.
Oh, by the way, the name of this cookware is Flash-in-The Pan!

aluminum cookware?
okay, i’d like to settle this question – is aluminum cookware poisoness or harmful to our body? if so, why manufacturers still making them? i also noticed from many cook shows, most restaurant chefs cooking with the aluminum pans? please show me articles or scientific proof yes or no.
Some studies of Alzheimer’s disease found higher-than-normal concentrations of aluminum in the brains of affected people. More recent studies have indicated that aluminum doesn’t cause Alzheimer’s disease. The last I heard, zinc and tin are now suspected to be related to Alzheimer’s. So it seems like there is a lot of uncertainty. My feeling is why chance it when the scientific community is waffling on this. I just cook in stainless steel pots and pans and cast iron skillets and dutch oven. Iron is an essential nutrient, so why not just cook in iron and relax? It seems senseless to show you “scientific proof”, since one can cite scientific proof pro or con. And sometimes it seems like everything the FDA says is eventually shown to be wrong. So I think it’s best to use your own judgement, and ask yourself whether it makes sense to potentially ingest elements that biological evolution has aparently decided do not belong in the living organism. Aluminum is one of the most abundant elements in the earth’s crust. Why is it apparently not a constituent of living tissue? Maybe nature knows something that even learned scientists don’t know.

How safe is stainless steel cookware made in China?
With all the recent product recalls, I am concerned that cookware made in China might be contaminated in some way too.
I am especially interest in stainless steel cookware.
I would also appreciate recommendations for safe stainless cookware.
Are you afraid that it might be laced with lead?
